Published 20 September 2026. Last reviewed 27 September 2026.

13-week cash forecast inputs

Each week covers 7 days from the start date.

Enter bank receipts and payments for each week, including GST where cash includes it. Include BAS, payroll, super, loan payments, capital purchases and drawings in their expected payment weeks. The initial zeros are empty planning amounts. A delayed receipt must already be included in the original week’s total.

  • Formulas: weekly closing cash = opening cash + receipts − payments, each closing balance opening the next week; funding gap = minimum buffer − lowest opening or weekly closing cash, floored at zero.
  • Figures: supplied by you. No statutory rate or threshold is applied. The layout follows business.gov.au: cash flow. A receipt delayed beyond week 13 is reported separately and does not enter the closing balance.

Receipts delayed beyond week 13 appear separately in the result and CSV. They do not enter this horizon’s closing balance. To compare scenarios, download each before changing the delay.

How it works

Weekly closing cash = opening cash + receipts − payments. Each closing balance opens the next week. Funding gap = minimum buffer − lowest opening or weekly closing cash, with a floor of zero. It is a planning gap, not a lending decision. Weekly totals can hide a shortage within the week.

business.gov.au: cash flow

The Lumbridge cash flow case works the same question with a 45-day receipt delay.
